Cedar Ridge Stables took 4 horses to the Horsley Park Training Weekend. The event was kindly sponsored by the AHSA and organised by the Zone One Committee.

3 of the horses were competing in their first 40km event, while seasoned horse Cedar Ridge Fire N Gold took Annette around for her first 20km ride. Cedar Ridge Silverado was ridden by Blake Freeman, Brodie rode Cedar Ridge Paladin and Camille rode Rowallan Simon.

These 3 Younger Horses will compete in their First 80km Events at the Cedar Ridge Easter Carnival, and Brooke from Tasmania will come and compete on Cedar Ridge Fire N Gold in the FEI 120km** Event.

Camille’s time in Australia is coming to an end, and we are not sure who will be more upset, us or the horses!

Camille has been visiting from France for the past 12 months and she has competed in 7 Events in Australia.

All of the horses love Camille and they listen to her when she is speaking in French to them. Of course Camille loves all of the horses too, but 'everybody loves Quinzy'. Quinta Essentia is a stable favourite. Camille was able to compete on Quinta Essentia last year in the Wingello Forest 100km Ride (where the NSW 160km State Championships will be this year).

Camille's last Endurance Ride in Australia will be trhge upcoming Cedar Ridge Easter Carnival held at the Cedar Ridge Endurance Centre, Oberon. Camille will ride as an International Rider and will compete in the 2 days of events.

 The weather is cooling down as the Australian Endurance Season is warming up!

The Australian Endurance Season is starting up for 2012, and our first event will be the ‘Q60’ located down in the Colo Valley NSW. This ride is special to us, it is one that was started by a small number of people- including Lesley Freeman more than 20 years ago.

Cedar Ridge Stables has won this ride on 4 different occasions. Mark Freeman & Cedar Ridge Rob Roy won the event in 1984 and then again in 1987, Brodie Freeman & Cedar Ridge Fire N Gold won the event in 2006 and then Mark’s other son Blake Freeman and his horse Warrawee Savahn managed to win the event in 2010.

This year we will have some of our Younger Endurance Horses competing at a much slower pace as they do their 1^st 80km events.

 Kunama Safira and Courtney Freeman came 18^th in the FEI 160km*** Presidents Cup in an impressive time of 7hours 23 minutes.

On arrival Safira looked magnificent and ready to run. (16 months after she had done her 1^st80km ride) Her riding record shows that she has successfully completed 11 Endurance rides including 3 x FEI 120km** & 2 x FEI 160km***.

The 135 starters set out at 6am. During the day the temperature rose to around 34 degrees so the cool bottles of water passed up to them was very welcomed. Many other Countries had representatives competing at the invitation of the organising committee.

As usual the friendliness of the Emiratis and hospitality shown to all visitors was breathtaking.
